“I take pictures of the clouds and dress them with colors to add joy and happiness to the world “
Born and raised at the North of Paris in France, Eli moved to Canada and claimed Ontario as her new home 13 years ago
Eli’s photography journey started in 2008 when he moved to Canada, a curious immigrant fascinated by the open landscape and the big sky, and wanted to capture the beauty around her.
After a series of explorations, she finally discovered that her passion for photography was more about the sky and the clouds than the landscape.
Eli is captivated by the ephemeral and unique beauty of the clouds and uses her art to represent the individuality and beauty of people, and to remind them to embrace their uniqueness.
Researching a collection of 10,000+ clouds, Eli has made it her life’s work to translate with her art the feeling of serenity and calm confidence she feels under the clouds.
Outside art, Eli loves spending time in her log home taking wild walks with her rescue dogs. During these walks, Eli is keen to capture every shape and harmony in the sky, staring in her camera and ravishing in the peace that comes with this experience.
” Like our soul, no two cloud formations are alike. What I capture with my work mirrors the individuality and beauty within us. “
Fascinated by the ephemeral beauty of clouds, these once-in-a-moment wisps of nature have shaped Eli's work .
Each of my images is inspired by the unique contemplation and peacefulness Eli feels when she stare up at the sky.
Wishing to add that emotion into the world, she hope to channel those feelings of serenity and positivity with others.
Focusing on clouds as a subject is a way to zero in on the true beauty nature has to offer;
Taking the time to gaze into one small snapshot of the sky at a time, Eli's work offers viewers the opportunity to appreciate the depth and poetry our world has to offer.
Starting with the photographs from her accumulated collection, she then choose the perfect balance of shape and sentiment; digitally manipulating the piece to bring out the perfect balance of color, mood, and emotion.
One of Eli’s current projects is to create a new piece each day. She has already completed 800 pieces and counting. You can see them on Instagram @elibajet
During my 25-year as an air logistics executive, I traveled the world while climbing the corporate ladder to the top. This meant countless hours in airplanes where I grew to love looking at clouds.
Cut to COVID and I found myself, like everyone else, grounded indefinitely.
I had started taking photographs of clouds ten years earlier but had immediately dismissed it. “A cloud photographer?” That doesn’t exist. It’s a ridiculous idea, I told myself.
Then, with the world on pause, my inner voice suddenly found the space to be heard. “What makes me happy?” And I already had the answer: Cloud photography. My second chapter had already started a decade earlier. And I had no idea.
Today, I call myself a Cloud Capturer and dedicate my time to translating nature’s dance into a source of serenity and calm confidence for the home. I photograph the sky from around the world, creating original art that has been exhibited in Europe and is purchased around the world through my online gallery.
Millions of miles in the air translated into images that represent hope, calm, and the limitlessness of personal transformation.
Pay attention to these little things that make you happy. They are never too small and they are never too stupid to be pursued. They are the signs of the gifts that are in you.
I love this quote from Paolo Coehlo — “Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure”.
