I create a piece of art every day . It all started in 2017 and I am now at 700 ++ daily art .
Here is the story behind the daily art.
Here is a video of the first 365 daily arts summarized in 1 minute.
How did the "every day " project start?
The project started in Sept 2017. I was unhappy in my life and I wanted to bring more joy every day and do something for me every day. I also wanted to get better at my craft and escape with the clouds and the colors.
Showing up every day to do a piece of art was my way to escape and play with colors. Without planning it I started to look forward to this special time and ended up setting up a goal to do it at least for a year – 365 days –
During that year I kept my little practice secret. I was not ready to share my work with the world and I was afraid to be judged.
After this first year, I did a pause for a few months until the pandemic hit us. Being at home and having more time to reflect made me want to go back to the daily practice of cloud creation.
I started the second round during the pandemic but this time decided to share my art with the world through Instagram. I no longer wanted to hide.
I felt the desire to share the beauty of the clouds with the world during these difficult times that we were all living.
I am now at 700++ daily arts and planning to continue this daily practice as long as I live.
This is my commitment to expressing myself freely and my commitment to share with the world my passion for the clouds.
Why do I create something every day?
I create do it because I know it makes me happy and I want to learn to prioritize what makes me happy regardless of my busy schedule or life constraints.
I'm learning to let go of judgment and self-critic. I'm learning to let go of perfection. I'm learning to let go of control
I'm learning to be patient with myself when the progress doesn't show as fast as I would like to.
How did that daily practice change me?
Creating every day is like a meditation for me. It has a calming effect on me and makes me feel happy inside.
Creating every day opened my mind to doing something on purpose every day that makes me happy regardless of the constraints, time, and self-judgment. I learned to prioritize what was important for me no matter what.
What happens if you miss a day or feel like you don't want to do it?
Once I start a new round, I never miss a day because I consider that as my highest priority and a way to honor myself first.
How do you stay motivated?
Yes, it happened many times that I feel tired or the creation process is difficult. But in that case, I always remind myself that it doesn't have to be perfect. Just showing up is the most important.
I honor my passion and always remind myself that nobody is forcing me to do that. I am doing this because it makes me happy.
Finding joy in your daily practice is the best way to stay motivated.
